PLAN POST

Our Topic: Digital Rights and Responsibilities-Online Predators.

Today in class my partner and I came together to chose what we wanted to do. We were still deciding which topic in our topic to pick. We decided to do our PSA on online predators. We also distributed responisibilities today (what each of us is going to do.). We came up with our production name. AimHigh Entertainment is what we named it. We learned and looked up more about stastics on online predators and more information on the topic.
We are planing on getting together and begin creating our project. We will film her cousin for our PSA actress. After we film her we will look up more information on the predators to start putting our film together. We will also try to find some music we can use.Once everyhting is together we will post it all.
I would give myself a 5. I believe we are trying really hard to get this done to the best of our abilities. We are considering,no we are going to get together to work on the project over the weekend.I think we are trying out best to make this happen.

Evaluation-All steps

My rating for this project is a 5/6.

Investigation:
The investigation stage was quite easy for me. The problem we had to solve is explaining to a 6th grader what the design cycle is all about by creating a presentation. The presentation I decided to do was a movie. After deciding what I wanted to do for the project I investigated more what the design cycle is. This way I could have a better understanding of it.

Plan:
The plan stage was a bit more difficult. After deciding to do a video and where I wanted to do it on I had to  create a plan on how I wanted it to look like. I also had to be very specific which took a lot of time and thinking to figure out how I wanted it. The Gant chart helped with this process. I also had to create 3 designs which ended up helping me choose my final design.

Create:
The create stage was the hardest for me. It took a lot of time and patience to create this video. I had to create a script to help with the progress. I also had to figure out how to work the site I was working with. After creating all the 3 designs I finally chose which one I wanted to use.

Evaluate:
The evaluate stage was fairly simple for me. I made a survey for with questions for the 6th graders. After all of this I think I should get a 5/6. So about a 94 or 95 :)

Reflection(:

My ultimate goal is to go to college and become successful. Through what I learned I can use it throughout my journey to college and in college.
My future products can be more succesfull because the more I practice the design cycle the more sucessful i will become at it this means my products will continue to get better.
I've learned that if I try hard enough for success I will get it. I learned new ways to view and do things and will continue to use them.
I love my final product. I think I tried hard enough to make it good and I hope it is good enough for a 5 or 6.
I would try to plan things out more. Before publishing I will make sure it is good and finished. Or I will have to again do all over again.

6th grade survey questions

1. What is the second stage of the design cycle?

2.How many stages are there in the design cycle?

3.Name all the stages in the design cycle?

4.In which stage do you develop a design brief?

5.In what stage do you design your product?

6.What is the last stage of the design cycle?

7.Do you have a better understanding of what the design cycle is?

Investigation Reflection:)

Reflection:
I would rate myself a 5-6. Although I do not believe my work is at that much of a high level as 6 but the reason I am rating it higher than a 3-4 is because I also do not believe that my work was that bad. With that being said I will rate myself a 5. I explained and compared both projects. I explained the problems I had with both of them. I did research to help me with my work.  I think that although I could have done a better job with my work to get that 6 I did not do it well enough. It also took me 3 or 4 days just to finish the comparing. It should have only taken me a day or two. Although the reason it took me so long was because I wanted to add pictures to help the reader or the teacher follow along better.

Video: Dvolver

Characters: I rated the characters a 3 out 5. I did not like that they were animals and weird looking things. I think that the more weird looking these characters are the more focus get taken away from what they are actually saying.I wish they would have had more options for the characters. The more weird the characters are the worse I think they the information would get out. Although some people would find it funny and maybe like it more.I find it really annoying and not a really good learning environment. I personally would rather be able to learn than be distracted with all the other things on the video. I think they would like and understand it more with less distracting things and characters. The characters on the website are freaky in my opinion. A lot of them are aliens and animals...I mean there is a character that looks like Fabio( That's kinda cool actually). Anywho I liked the characters on GoAnimate more than I do.

Background: I gave background a 2 out of 5. I really did not like the options given to us. I think they could have added more with better quality. I did however like the option of putting in the sky and extra. Although I did NOT like the actual backgrounds. None of them seemed like a place were two or three kids would hang out and try to teach other kids. They seem more like a place adults would hang out or  a place were there is a celebration going on. They are 1) Not adults 2)They are not celebrating anything 3)They are learning. They are learning what the design cycle is. They are not celebrating a win,a holiday.Nothing.They are learning.

Text: I gave text a 5 out of 5. I honestly can't critic the text. Text is text for me. As long as the words get out im fine. Though on GoAnimate you could pick what type of tex bubbler you wanted. I also wished you could chose whether or not to have a text bubble or a thought bubble.

Simplicity: I rated it a 4 out of 5. the reason I rated it a 4 was because I found it super easy. The quality of the finishing product is not that good. I wish it would be more challenging actually and having to make me learn how to create and stuff. I wish I could be challenged.

Video: GoAnimate

Characters: I rated the characters on GoAnimate a 4. I rated them a 4 out of 5 because I like how they were actually people. On a lot of video sites I saw many of the characters were animals or aliens. To make the video more effective I wanted actual people. It will keep them more focused on what the person is saying instead of the actual character being used. I think if I were to use a animal or alien they will focus on how it looks and stuff like that. I think the character on this website are interesting. I also like how you have the option to Create your own Character. This for me seems like a great way to help get your ideas out. If you want a certain character to portray a certain thing you can make it. This helps make your video more acceptable to your audience. If they have something they can relate to they will pay more attention to the video.

Background: I rated the backgrounds a 4. The reason I rated them a 4 was because I liked the variety given to us. There are 7 backgrounds that are free plus if you want to spend your money they have some you can buy. I enjoyed how I could chose one and it would make the scene of the video more believable. This will or should have a bigger effect on the viewers. If the area in which the video is taking place does not match they would lose focus. They would be focused on the weird background instead of what the characters are trying to explain to them. I liked how they have it were you can move things around in your background. This gives us the creator more space to do what we want with our video. It gives us creative outlets with the background.

Text: I gave text a 5 out of 5. I gave it a 5 because I love the opition of being able to chose to use text or to use voice. I can have a text bubble or I can add voice to make it sound actually real. I also love the different text bubble I can choose from. If I want them to be thinking of something they have the bubble for that. They also a have a the circle, rectangle, heart, etc. bubbles to help show emotion. If you use the heart you can tell with what is in the bubble and the bubble itself that the reader is in love or at least falling in love. If they did not have these options I think giving it a 5 would have been difficult.

Simplicity: I gave simplicity a 3 out of 5. The reason I gave it such a low score was because it is a little hard to manuver around the the actual site. Finding how to create the movie was the hardest though. I watched a movie and understood. However it seems that it will take alot more effort and design to actually finish this project.I think that although it will be difficult I think that the outcome would come out better than alot of sites I saw. Hopefully I will be able to get use to the way it works. I'm sure I will. It shouldnt take that long to be able to work the site. It may look difficult but it may not actually be difficult.

Day 2-Investigation Reflection :D

Today,I decided I wanted to make a video for my project. To find a link to a good video making site I went to Mrs.Hinojosa's blog and clicked on the link Create  A Video Tools. From there I found Dvolver and GoAnimate. On Dvolver i learned how to create a video using different background, character and text.  I tried to make a video and realized how it worked. It was very simple but still creative. From there I went back to the Create A Vide Tools and clicked on the GoAnimate link. On GoAnimate I researched how to make a video on this website. What I liked about this one was there were more options on what to do with your video. Not only could you use animated characters this website already had you can upload images and sounds to your video. There are positives and negatives for both sites. On Dvolver it is easier to create your video however your design span is small. On GoAnimate there is more things to use and more ways for your imagination to wander although it takes alot of time and effort to understand and use GoAnimate.
I decided to go with GoAnimate although it might take longer it will be a better video. Even though it will take up more of my time.It will be better.
